CEWE – World’s Largest Photography Competition: Irish Launch

The CEWE Photo Award is the world’s largest photo competition, free to enter, and open to anyone worldwide. We organised a launch event in the heart of Dublin city centre with 30 photo loving content creators and media to celebrate the start of the year long photo competition.

The CEWE Photo Award competition is a global photography competition with over half a million photos submitted annually. The competition is available for anyone to enter with €250,000 in prizes to be won.

Our launch strategy focused on highlighting the unique features of the competition, making the awards hyper-relevant to an Irish audience. We developed a partnership with a well-known content creator and photography expert from Mayo, Joshua Nueva. Showcasing the joy of photography capture, Joshua also offered practical tips and advice for entering the photo competition.

For the launch event, we hosted a gamified photo walk event around Dublin city centre, providing a framework for over 30 local content creators and media to come together. Added with a competitive element and good prizes, the event was a hit with participants that generated over 200,000 organic reach from the launch evening alone.

In addition to the national launch, we also engaged local media and relevant online communities to maximise coverage. Creating a compelling narrative using Irish-captured images in CPA competitions of previous years, we also promoted local talent and made it very relevant to local communities in Ireland.

Influencer Engagement

Selected brand ambassador for the campaign. Oversaw social media content deliverables. Invited 30 Irish influencers for the launch event.

Media Relations

Developed press release, shared with key media alongside some photos of Irish CEWE Photo Award past entries. Worked with the client to select images of Ireland’s best-known landmarks, wildlife, and scenes to gather interest. Profiled local photographers regionally in their home counties sharing their submissions.

Event Management

Created and managed a launch event to showcase the CEWE Photo Award in Ireland. We held the event in a very special Dublin city centre location planning scenic routes for two separate teams to photograph the beauty of Dublin city centre. Managed prizes for the winning team in addition to catering, logistics, and event set up.

Social Media

Captured content on the day and sharing with CEWE social media team. Monitoring social media mentions. Created a 60-second reel to recap the event to be shared on brand’s Facebook & Instagram pages.
