Cullen Communications Named PR Agency of the Year at 2024 PRCA Awards for Excellence

Cullen Communications has been named PRCA Agency of the Year for 2024 at this year’s annual PRCA Awards for Excellence.

Cullen Communications has been named PRCA Agency of the Year for 2024 at this year’s annual PRCA Awards for Excellence, which took place in Dublin’s Radisson Blue Royal Hotel last week.

We were named PRCA Agency of the Year (1-15 employee category) after a stellar 12 months in which we became one of the first businesses in Ireland to attain B Corp status. B Corp is a designation awarded only to companies that meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance.

The company recorded growth across all key business metrics during the awards eligibility period, mainly due to an expansion of our service offering with particular focus on digital and influencer marketing.

Investment in talent was another factor in winning the award, with Cullen Communications expanding its team and implementing a hugely successful L&D (learning and development) programme during the eligibility period.

Finally, as part of our ‘Be the Good’ initiative, Cullen Communications donated 3% of our overall income to good causes in 2023.

“Unique commitment to sustainability” – PRCA

Commenting on our winning awards submission, the PRCA Awards for Excellence judging panel said:

“Cullen Communications demonstrated a strong business acumen that responded proactively and positively to serious business challenges. It stood out for its investment in staff Learning and Development and a unique commitment to governance and sustainability.”

Founded in 1985 by Frank Cullen, the family-owned Cullen Communications is one of Ireland’s longest-established PR agencies. Managing Director Owen Cullen – who took over the running of the business in 2013 – says winning PRCA Agency of the Year is one of the agency’s proudest achievements.

“Coming off the back of a challenging year in 2022, our focus last year was on restructuring the agency for growth,” Owen said. “By developing our service offering and investing in our team and people, we were able to bounce back strongly and record growth in almost all areas of the business.

“Achieving B Corp was another target, but we didn’t know if we would make it,” he admitted. “We got there thanks to a huge collective effort. Our B Corp status is now an integral part of our agency’s philosophy and expertise – offering ESG communications and helping other brands on their own sustainability journey.

“I want to say a big thanks to our clients, our partners and most of all our wonderful team for helping to turn this dream into reality,” Owen said. “Next year we are proud to mark 40 years in business, and what better way to celebrate than as PRCA Agency of the Year!”
